I am going through the same thing! I had a vaginal ultrasound done last Friday when I was supposed to be 7 weeks. We could see the pregnancy, but no heartbeat. I know how you feel. After reading up on it, I found that the heartbeat is often seen between 7 and 9 weeks. I am praying for you. I have two healthy children and recently miscarried in August. It is very stressful, but I wish you the best of luck.

Don't judge the situation too early. Wait until the test results come back and more analysis can be done. My sister recently had a baby and went in for a check up at 7 months pregnany and they couldn't find the heartbeat at all until well into the 8th month and everything is fine.

Anything is possible - the baby may not actually be as far along as they think, the heartbeat just may not have been detectable. However, it's also possible this time just wasn't right. While it is difficult to go through a miscarriage, you have to remember that nature knows what it is doing and if it couldn't get everything together this time, this particular child just wasn't meant to be.
I wouldn't jump to any conclusions until the definitive results are in, though. Lots of things happen. I know it seems like we have pregnancy down to a science, but it can be so unpredictable.
Best wishes.

It depends. The fact that they were not able to see a heartbeat via a transvaginal sono is not a good sign. However, given that the dates may not be accurate, it could simply be that the baby's heart has not started beating yet. Typically right around 7-8 wks is when you are first able to see the heartbeat by sono. If your hcg levels are dropping rather than dpoubling, then you are more that likely miscarrying. Good luck!!!

It could be wrong...if you have a tilted uterus or something like that. I know it took them until about 9 weeks to find my friend's babies heart beat due to that. I am going through something similar. They found the heart beat at 6 weeks during the vaginal ultrasound, and then last week on Nov. 2 (12 weeks) she couldn't find anything using a doppler in her office. I am going tomorrow morning to check it out and I am worried. Sorry, and I understand the worry is all I can say! Hopefully everything is fine! Good Luck and God Bless!

With a transvaginal one it is the most accurate. I had a scan at 5-1/2 weeks and could see a sac and a heartbeat. You could see a little flash on the screen. Could be good...could be bad. Could be that you aren't as far along as you thought...could be a blighted ovum. Hang in tehre till your next appointment.

It might be too early. The first time I had an ultrasound, we didn't listen for the heartbeat. I was about 7 weeks. The next time I had an ultra sound (at 12 weeks) is when we heard my baby's heartbeat. Did you see any movement when you saw the sonogram?
Hopefully, it's too early and that there's nothing to worry about.

confident, I had a nurse do the comparable subject. It grew to become into terrifying. I additionally observed that each and every time anyone placed a doppler close to my abdomen, my toddler can aggressively flow faraway from it. i ended up switching to a midwife that did no longer use Doppler-- she used a fetal stethoscope to take heed to the toddler's heartbeat.

I had that happen to me when I was about 6 weeks or so.....depending if they are really correct with the dates and all. But the baby was still to small to find or pick up the heart beat. I wouldn't worry or stress about it. I am sure that you are OK and the baby is too. Worrying isn't good for you or the baby. I know it is hard but try to find something else to do or to think about.
Are you still or have you had morning sickness lately??? That was a way that I knew that it was all OK. But honey please don't stress till next week........have your hubby take you out.
Best of luck to you and yours.
