Ten Interesting Capuchin monkey Facts-

1) The most famous Capuchin monkey in the world is probably McGinty, the Capuchin monkey that has lived in Durty Nelly's Pub in Ireland for the last 60 years. In his heyday in the 50's McGinty got more fan mail than the Beatles and the Rolling Stones together.

2) Capuchin monkeys are very sarcastic.

3) When hunting, Capuchin monkeys cover their noses so that they blend in with the jungle background. They also do this if another Capuchin monkey has farted.

4) In 1931 Hollywood was scandalised by Fatty Arbuckle's affair with Fru Fru, a (married) Capuchin monkey . Neither Arbuckle nor FruFru's career (she was an ice-dancer) survived the media backlash.

5) Many people assume that Capuchin monkeys are mammals. They are in fact a form of wingless bird.

6) Just as jews are often blamed for catastrophic events in the global community, so Capuchin monkeys are often blamed for disaster in the jungle community. Because of this, many Capuchin monkeys refer to themselves as jewchimps.

7) Famous musical Capuchin monkeys include Jimi Hendrix, Larry Adler, Cyndi Lauper, and Jeff Beck.

8) In 1914 the Capuchin monkey population of London was 12. It is now 15.

9) Capuchin monkeys have the most natural rhythm of all the jungle animals. During spring and summer, polar bears often give salsa and merengue classes to students in South America.

10) If you are very sad and very lonely, and you think hard enough about a Capuchin monkey , one will appear beside you.

Capuchin monkeys are called that because they have a black
cap on their head which makes them look like CApuchin friars. They live mostly in Central America and South America. They live in trees and sleep at night, spending their days searching for food which includes fruits, seeds, nuts insects, birds eggs and small vertebrates. They were sometimes used as organ grinder monkeys and circus performers, and are still sometimes kept as pets. They are New World monkeys
and are considered the smartest ones. They are often used for intelligence experiments because of this. They are also sometimes trained as helpers to paraplegics and other incapacitated individuals.
Good luck in your project.

Have you looked on wikipedia? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capuchin_monkey

I find it interesting that they act to their own reflection in a way that indicates they are partially self-aware.

Good luck!
