Some lip glosses, yes, can be harmful around the eye area, especially those that are formulated to "plump" lips as they contain cinnamon or mint oils whose sole purpose is to irritate the skin (which causes more blood flow to the area and thus the "plumping" temporary result). If you want a wet look, try a tiny bit of petroleum jelly over your eyeshadow or mixed in with it. It is pretty safe to use around the eye area if you are not allergic to petroleum products. Cream eyeshadows and liquid eyeshadows will give dewy looks as well.

Vaseline and eye shadow mixed (just a little to wet the surface and not grease it can look pretty cool (think dewy and fresh)...or at least it looks cool to me. However, lip gloss or chapstick or anything like that wouldn't do the same thing. Like people said it might be sticky. It could also leave your lids feeling very heavy and gross. Whatever you do DON'T use lipgloss as a blush...it is not the same (think greasy clown). All just my opinion and some is based on experience. You could also try using blush instead of eyeshadow (this works fine for me...just use the compressed powder blush). You can even use the blush brush that it comes with the apply it to your lids...this works and I like it better than the small applicators that eyeshadow comes with...depending on the effect I'm looking for).

I wouldn't use lipgloss because it's so sticky and could drip down into your eyes and cause an eye infection which can be very dangerous.
Now listen to this...I went to school with a girl who used vaseline as eye shadow. It made her eyes look wet which is what you are looking for and it's not dangerous. Try it!!

First off, with brown eyes, you should stay away from blues. You're really pretty naturally so you probably know you shouldn't/do need to wear alot or makeup. For your lips, it doesn't matter wether you have braces or not the only thing that would affect your color choice is your skin/hair/teeth color. Also you're young so i wouldn't go with anything dark like mauves or deep reds. I have dark brown hair and dark brown eyebrows as well and I think a frosty pink is nice and colors that are similar to your natural lip color. Like I said before, stay away from dark reds and brownish lip color. Also stay away from lip colors that are similar/match your skin color/tone. Also I would stay away from lip glosses and veer towards lipstick/lipstains. Just moisturize them first. For eye shadow, green is nice for brown eyes normally it complements them, though I just suggest you make sure you pick darker/forest greens and/or tone is down my blending some black or a darker shade with your green.

dont try it. your eyes are very sensitive and some products are specifially made to be used on certain parts of your face. lip gloss is sticky and hard to remove because its waterproof and made for your mouth so imagine trying to remove that from your eyelids later...ouch! and imagine putting petroleum jelly or oil in your eyes because thats what it will feel like if it touches your eyeball during/after application...double ouch! there are some eyeshadows made to give you a wet or shiny look that are much safer im sure.

It's really bad for your eyes. Eye make-up has to go through different tests to make sure it's safe. Lip gloss is not formulated for your eyes! BAD IDEA!!! Use something like revelon cream shadow.
