the girl that stabbed her newborn baby, was from a very stable and loving home, and she had no mental problems>simply wanted to get rid of the precious baby and i know at that age you DO know right from wrong. The person that got 25yrs. for selling marijuana, it was his first offense.

She should get life, no question. As far as selling Marijuana, I think our justice system needs to get over the marijuana. If it had been Heroine or Crack Cocaine or something like that, then I could see a hard sentence, not 25 years, unless it is a repeat offender. The Marijuana laws in my opinion, and I am a 44 year old grandmother who does not partake, are ridiculous and I believe many people run into many obstacles later in life because of Marijuana charges. Heck, probably 80% of the lawmakers smoked when they were younger. And I am so sick and tired of people saying Marijuana ruins peoples lives or causes irreparable damage, etc. etc. etc. None of this has been proven, it is all propaganda that normally intelligent people choose to believe. Murderers and Child Molesters should get life, and depending on the situation some should get the death penalty.

I don't find it right for the lady to have gotten only five years for killing a baby
But I have an idea why the guy selling weed got 25 years.....
I am not agreeing with it though....
1) The guy selling weed affected more people
2) The 17 yr old is underage
3) Selling drugs is illegal, and it's written. But there is no law against killing newborns (what i mean is it's not specific. no one ever wrote you go to jail for a long time if you kill your newborn baby)
again, these are just ideas

I am not sure I have heard the particular story you refer to about the girl, but that does happen, and age is a factor.
I haven't heard of anyone getting 25 years for selling cannabis, unless it was possibly their third felony conviction, which indicates a substantial history of criminal behavior. Selling or possessing cannabis is usually a misdemeanor, unless it is a large amount of cannabis.
I personally know the father of two guys who were arrested for selling a bargeload of cannabis, (really, several tons, a real barge, loaded to capacity), who got probation, and the most anyone involved in that episode served was less than 2 years.

well, spose this 17 y/o has been raised in a horribly dysfunction drug-addicted family. I don't know. But I don't think 5 years in prison is going to do anything but make her worse. And 25 years for selling pot is really a bunch of crap.

Murderer asn't doing anything worse than abortion and that's legal...
The weed person also ruined lives, dragged out pain and all for money. This is a long, painful masacre.
I don't think we have a right to question this these both happened in differant areas with differant judges and differant laws. Let's respect that.

And look at those Drunk Drivers who killed other people. They only spent in jail 2 years.
My friend's dad got 2 years in prison for drunk driving and he killed a 7 year old girl.
