Do you think Karma has any influence on it at all?

Hi Silva

This is one I've often thought long and hard about.

I think that we do indeed need to face the fact that our choices in life have put us in the place and situation we are in today. However, I do believe the winds of destiny and karma blow us along to some extent.

What really irks me is people who live their life like a "leaf on the wind" stating that it doesn't matter which choices they make - destiny will see them right. This to me seems irresponsible, and smacks of a weak constitution to make sometimes difficult choices.

Everyone should shoulder the responsibility of their actions, with a healthy respect for karmatic retribution.

There is a saying I like that goes "Be careful of the people that you step on as you make your way up the ladder - you may have to pass them again on your way back down"

For the majority of it, yes. Although choices made by certain people close to me have affected some aspects of the outcome of some events. I take my share of responsibility though. As to Karma...I just don't know really. I try very hard to make sure I do no harm in my life. Hate to think I have to come back and try this all over again.

I really don't know who's Karma, but yes you are totally responsible of all choices you made.

I feel somewhat responsible but I was only 16 years old when my
Parents let me start making the decisions , I got pregnant ,
Married and it was all down hill from there .

I do how ever believe in Karma and all these years later
I'm very aware of it at most times .

I think that the determinist theory is true.
The universe was set in motion like someone breaking in pool. The white ball hit the other balls and sent them off in directions determined by a series of set initial conditions.
There is no free will because everythign is determined. Hence I am not responsible for the choices I've made. Free will is an illusion brought on by religion.

Perhaps not totally responsible, but it is what it is, and it's ok. Karma definitely played a part in it all.

I believe we are all responsible for our actions, but then I also believe God's grace/mercy/will for our lives supercedes the consequences of our actions when we ask him to step in.

Karma still means responsibility for you actions: basically what you put out there is what will come back to you.

Partially. I am where I choose to be. But not all the choices were mine to make. Otherwise, my husband would still be alive and I would be somewhere else. It's not always choices, but circumstances not of our making that bring us to certain places in life.
