welcome change. They already have announced plans to raise the minimum wage and other much needed initiatives. I think they are more open to listening to outside sources and don't fire people who tell the unwanted truth like ole georgie does.
Things will get more interesting as the days pass.

Since there has NOT been a Democrat in office that has DONE ANYTHING!!!! since J.F.K., I have to say that they will stick with their DO NOTHING (unless I can get rich) plan & MAKE THINGS WORSE!!!!
No backbone....You can't stand for ANYTHING!!!!
Has anyone else noticed that the military recruiting has exceeded expectations & so has the military retention rates??? The Democraps cannot deny the numbers!!!!
The Democraps are already out to cause MORE people to lose their jobs!!! Like Clinton didn't screw this country enough by signing NAFTA, now the Democraps want to raise the minimum wage which will in turn cause employers to cut benefits & eliminate more full time jobs!!!!
PS DRUMMER: Iraq could get worse. If the Democraps have their way & the U.S. turns tail & runs like the Democraps are famous for, then Iraq will be HERE!!!!!

Ok first and for most, for the time being and as we speak, our men and women are fighting and dying. What is the lame duck congress planning to do before they skidaddle? Anything on Iraq? Have they gotten anywhere in 4 years? We can sit here and say the Dems will do this, or won't do that. However making something happen NOW is my opinion what needs to happen, how many more lives will we waist waiting for the Democrats to either save the day and bail us out, or fail even harder then the GOP did. Its a valid question don't get me wrong, but why are we arguing about what the Dems will/won't fail while our current Senator's stand around and do nothing.
"Wait and see what happens" is unacceptable to me, we are at war!

Don't expect something as thoroughly FUBARed as Iraq to get better for the people there if we get out. But if an international force that has SOME credibility with the people there can come in to REALLY help, the bloodbath might not be as bad as it otherwise would be. Now the US is just POSTPONING, at best, the inevitable civil war that will happen ANYWAY if the US was to stay forever, at the cost of the decline of the US to third world status... much like as happend to the Soviet Union. Down with Dictator Dumbya!!!

I hope things start to change for the better. That being said just because I believe that the GOP messed up badly in international affairs is no guarantee that the Dems will do any better.

The Democrats will be a welcome change if they really do the things they said they were going to. Remember they are all politicians.. some a little worse than others, some a little better. But a politician is a born liar.. so we can only hope for the best.

It's a welcome change for me. Anything but full speed ahead is a welcome change in Iraq. Since you seem to think it can get worse over there, care to explain how. The only way I see it getting worse is if we put more troops there, it gives the crazies more targets to shoot. Let me just ask you this brainiac. If the Iraq army landed on our shores saying they were here to liberate us, how would you react?

Well, that's yet to be seen, but i am inclined to believe they will be a welcome change. They will do so many stupid things in 2 years that the Republicans will surely win both chambers of congress back and once again win the executive branch.

The democratic shift is a much welcome change not only in the Iraq dillema but also to shift other stances away from the right and more towards the middle.

They will be a "welcomed let down."
The electorate, periodically, needs to be reminded of what it is like to have high taxes, unsecured boarders, and dysfunctional social programs.
Regardless of party, the graft and influence peddling will continue to erode the integrity of the House of Representatives.
I, for one, look forward to the creative gyrations the democrats will go through to masquerade their desire to surrender in Iraq with a veil of "Peace with Honor" rhetoric.
I believe we are in for one of the most politically entertaining and dangerous periods in American history.
