The reason they are getting rid of lay away is to get more people to use or get the walmart credit card. I think Kmart is still doing lay away, so alot of my friends have been shopping at kmart.

you are able to watch the movie Wal-Mart: The intense fee of Low expenditures and you will in all probability supply up paying for at walmart era. i think of in case you are able to desire to place it on layaway it is considering you haven't any longer have been given the money and once you p.c.. it up you ask your self why did you place it on layaway besides. Staffers at walmart thieve what you place on layaway for themselves, (motorcycles, frequently occurring toys, so on etc something which could no longer slot in that bleach container) and the layaways are in no way staffed, they're only too sluggish and do on no account placed something on layaway at Christmas time. you are able to wait an hour to get your layaway. I quit layaway at walmart in the past. only too problematical.

Yeah, but they're bringing back the word "Christmas." I guess it's in their contract to make at least one bone-headed move every year.
Credit card users shop on the layaway plan anyway, except for the fact that you actually get the item and layaway the payment until you're good and ready to pay 'em.

Only effect it had on me is I didn't grab the sewing machine I've been wanting and put it on lay-away. If K-Mart still has lay-away (don't know if they do, I never shop there) I think they will get a lot of WalMart's business at Christmas and back to school time.

Yup. Heard all about it 2 months ago.
Walmart is instead going to offer a credit card deal. That way you can have the merchandise now, and just pay it off later. At least that's their argument. Really, they probably figured out they were missing out on all that interest.

Yes, their competitor doesn't do layaway, so they are quitting it too. They are going to lose a lot of sales. Worked for them for four years. Hated it. They don't want to pay nothing and their benefits suck

corporate headquarters certainly messed up on this one. seems as though lay - a - way was a good way for a poor person to purchase more and better quality merchandise. but a credit card can be a downfall for many who can't manage their credit properly.

Yes, but K-Mart will still have theirs. This doesn't affect me, but I do feel sorry for those it does affect.
