The central question is when does an embryo become a human.
Most people who are against abortion believe that life starts at the moment of conception, and if it is human at that time, abortion is murder.
Many people in the pro-choice camp do not believe that an embryo is a human. It has the potential to become human In this case there is no conflict between being pro-choice and anti death penalty.
This is where I think we should be centering the debate, when is a human a human.

You are stereotyping many Democrats who don't feel this way. Why do you think we all have to have the same set of believes to be a Democrat? We're Democrats, not GOP clones.
Abortion - you phrased it correctly. "Pro-choice" is the term. Not "pro-abortion". I am always amazed how a party (the GOP)that wants the government to be less intrusive in people's lives, wants to dictate to women on abortion. It's none of anyone's business except those involved. Leave people the hell alone.
The death penalty. Your great nemesis, William J. Clinton, was pro death penalty. I don't like it, I hate the idea of executions but, like many of my fellow Democrats, think there are some slime that need to be given the needle. Tim McVeigh, John Gacy, Ted Bundy come to mind. What we do worry about are mistakes: the death penalty seems to be used far too much.

i don't know the answer to that but i believe in pro-choice. i think that a women should have a choice, not abuse it and use it as birth control. I also think that it should be done by 8 weeks. Either way, it's a hard decision for someone to make.
I believe in the death penalty for certain crimes. If you rape/molest or kill someone then you should be put to death. There could be a grace period so that all evidence presents itself then off the person.

how can you be pro-death penalty but anti-choice? really 2 separate issues
I am against the death penalty because too many innocent people have been put to death
I am pro-choice (for the first trimester) because I believe the decision should be up to a woman during that part of the pregnancy
also, please don't try to pretend like a full-grown, thinking person is the same as something smaller than my fingernail

I'm pro-choice and pro-death penalty. Libs and cons contradict in their beliefs. Cons are pro-life but for death penalty.

I am a registered Republican, I think I am Pro Death. I believe that criminals who commit certain crimes should be put to death and that it is better for some people not to come into the world.
I think the Democrats have it completely wrong on these issues.

Please explain to me the reasoning behind the Reps being pro-life but pro-death penalty.
It's the same logic.
Iwasnot...'s answer points out the key failure of the Republican party today, in that they used to stand for less intrusion in private lives but have forgotten about that.

A fetus is a potential life, and as such it has no rights that can outweight the rights of the mother. A person on death row is an actual life.
