I just had my baby a week in a half ago. She just lost her umbilicle cord stump. I was wondering how long do I have to wait to take a bath with her? Can I take one with her now or do I have to wait?

I was reading American Baby the other day and it said that you can start giving your baby tub baths as soon as the cord falls off.

you can bath them as soon as the umbilical cord falls off the only reason they tell you not to get it wet is because it can cause and infection but after it falls off the moisture cant stay right under the dry part of the umbilical cord i took a bath with my son the day after his fell off

As long as the umbilical cord has fallen off it is safe to put her in water. Just make sure it's not too hot. Have fun

There are no rules these days for umbilical cords. Just don't mess with it and make sure it doesn't get dirty. So, splash away.

Honestly, you don't have to worry about it much. My baby was bathed in water (no sponge baths) immediately after she was born. You just have to make sure that every crevice is dry, even the belly button.
