Here's the story. I only see my friends at school. I don't talk to people on the phone. And I don't hang out with anyone outside of school. I just stay home and play on the computer. Everyone I know hangs out in my town, goes to the movies. Everyone talks to each other outside of school but me. I want to have fun. I don't want to be a computer nerd who's only friends are on the internet. I am afraid to call people because I am worried they won't want to talk. I am afraid to ask a person to hang out because I am worried of being told "No." I need help. If anyone can help me, I would be incredible grateful.

Nothing to fear but fear itself..find out what your friends do and go with them. A true friend will be there for you and will want to spend time with you not only at school but also out. Maybe they don't ask because you've given them the impression you don't want to go anywhere.

Hello. What are truly your interests in life? How about joining some groups where you can give and receive.
Have you been hurt in your life that you're afraid of rejection?
Maybe you need to deal with this. Living in a fantasy world and never going outside the box is suffocating. Talk to a school counselor or someone knowledgeable who can help guide you the right direction.
Maybe these people your eyeing are really the ones you want to befriend because you need to be validated and accepted by "the accepted ones". There are other people out there.
Try searching the library on books regarding how to be a friend and/or to help with your shyness and insecurity. Best wishes. I hope you find some real good caring friends to give and take with in the near future.

As I have always been told from a teacher....is just do it any way..."feel the fear and just do it anyways." Or you will be like me sitting at home and doing what is here at home.
Of course now, I don't like most people here and I don't like this province that I am in. That now I don't think there is any hope for me to liking this place ever after being here 19 years. I hated it ever since I met people and the teachers are not what I think are all there. Any way, my point of view. In Ontario (the province), people were a lot better. Now I am at a point in my life that I realize what is better for me and this place isn't. I strongly dislike Alberta and the people that are in it.
I am feeling that I need to get away for good. My parents have changed too. Honestly, I am not even sure if it is even better. Lol...and it is time for me to move on and do something better with my life. For me to stop being soo anti socialable. I have a best friend who wants to help me lots. I will be able to hang out with the right crowds and the most positive crowds too at that.
Just remember not everyone is going to be that nice...they might play head games...I ran into people like that. Just becareful.
Choose wisely, ones who are not going to get you into trouble, or get you to do things that you don't want to do. The ones who respect you are the ones who are the true friends. Note, bars or clubs or pubs are not really a place that is recommended to go to now these days. But the best way is to go into volunteering or take an outside course to meet others. Join a club. Take part in sports. Enroll in a class outside of regular school that puts you in a different situation. No one says you have to run with the regular crowd. But, always keep in mind, that you should always choose your own friends, don't be the one who is chosen by someone in a clique.

Well the only way to stop being a computer nerd is get off the computer and get out of the damb house. Ask a friend to go out if they are friends at school then they will be out of school . loser

hey trust me i know exactly how you feel it's the exact same way with me! i'm pretty much on yahoo answers all the time. i'm the outcast reject kid in my skool and i'm not even mean to any1. ur probably thinking i'm a freak but idc if you don't i might as well go on so yea i don't l know how to help you sunce i need help myself with this but ur not alone lol i'd also love to have a social life and friends and ask god for it liek everyday lol

ask them ur lucky that u can go. my mom wont even let me go hang out with my frineds and im 13. and if they say no, then are they really your friends?
