Hello! I need to make a trip to San Francisco and am trying to decide between staying at Pacific Heights or Cow Hollow. Can you tell me which is the safer and quieter neighborhood? Thanks for your help.

Pac Heights and Marina/Cow Hollow area are two of the richest districts in San Francisco, both are very nice, very clean and could possibly be considered the safest areas in the city. Though, you will pay for this with the price of your accommodations. They are expensive areas to stay in. Have fun!

I find the area around Lombard in Cow Hollow a bit seedy, but if you are walking around you might find Pacific Heights quite hard work. I'd stay up the hill myself, but both are nice enough areas, nothing in that part of SanFrancisco could be considered cheap.

this is risk-free. With all due the honour, the guy above only visits... would not stay right here. And North coastline is a lot from valuable (this is one community/some blocks removed from the very Northern boarder of the city... and a lot of of the neighborhoods this is close to [ie: Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, financial District, etc...] are seldom if ever utilized with the help of maximum locals [different than enterprise contained related to FD... that's very practically thoroughly ineffective come dusk]). And the quay is disgusting except you have a mushy spot for yuppies choosing one yet another up at Safeway (food market). the section close to Japantown is oftentimes particularly stable. even regardless of the undeniable fact that, a particular tackle or intersection could be valuable. in certainty, something interior the close to North, West, and East of Japantown is high quality. North enormously... this is decrease Pacific Heights/Pacific Heights, traditionally between the wealthier neighborhoods of San Francisco and extremely coveted. even regardless of the undeniable fact that, South of Japantown is the place you may start to question it... whilst close to south as around the line (Geary). the section is in certainty initiatives. And the Eddy/Laguna intersection (some blocks South of Geary) is between the greater risky interior the city... yet only interior of a few block of it. practically all the initiatives are particularly risk-free... I walk by way of them at evening particularly oftentimes and have under no circumstances had a undertaking. even regardless of the undeniable fact that this is easily someplace you choose for to maintain your head approximately you. The Fillmore District is kinda comparable, regardless of tries at gentrification. yet no longer undesirable. this is the place the Fillmore Auditorium is, so has a tendency to have a lot of spill over of people who for sure are not the undertaking kind. So... something close to Japantown and North of Geary St is totally risk-free... rather a lot 0 crime and an somewhat proper community. something South of Geary (between Fillmore and Laguna) and North of Grove is questionable, and you probable shouldn't choose for it except you inspect the section and experience mushy with it first.
