Some people seem to get very angry about the Dixie Chicks! I love them, I also think that it is sweet that you are asking on the internet what CD to buy her.
I just bought "Taking the Long Way" and I think that it is great! It is their latest release, so I think it would be the best choice.
I hope that she enjoys it!!

I would buy the new one, all the songs are great and very diverse. Besides, if she really likes it, you could take her to one of the dixie chicks concerts, and she'll know all the songs.
And and don't worry about them being a political band, they're not. The new songs have nothing to do with politics. ;D

Deffinately 'Fly'. Most of the songs are romantic like 'Let him fly' or 'Cold Day In July' but I think she will enjoy, because they are all very catchy. This is my favourite album of the Dixie Chicks.

"Fly" by the Dixie Chicks.
It has the most well know Dixie Chicks songs on it, and it's my favorite Dixie Chicks album :)

The overall consensus seems to be none. Maybe you asked this question seriously or maybe you just asked to get the consensus of opinion currently. No matter that the democrats won, what the sicks did is really inexcusable to anyone running on all their cylinders. Think about the principles of this country before making this purchase. Not about if you agree with the president or the war. Think about principal. They were really wrong in what they did to the service members and don't deserve our support. Our troops do.

Wide open spaces is good but there are some superb tracks on the newest one,Taking the long way,such as Lullaby.
Dont listen to the naysayers.Listen to those who like them.
My vote goes to Taking the Long Way.But its a close run thing.

None. Buy an album from a band that is not about portraying their political point of view and is about making good music. The Dixie Chicks do not make good music, it's all political.
