I have friends who've had as many as 3, and they're only 18. Whats the average per woman in her lifetime?

0-1. The more you get the greater your risk to have bad complications or die.

Your question made me curious, so I figured it out. The CDC cited a rate of 16 abortions per 1000 women of reproductive age (15-45) back in 2000 (I couldn't find any more recent statistics without taking time I don't intend to spend on this).

Assuming a reproductive life of 30 years,
16*30 = 480

Meaning that in the course of their pregnancy capable years, 480 women out of every 1000 will have an abortion. Thus the average would be 0.48, or between 0 and 1 abortions/woman/lifetime.

This calculation is of course full of bs, as some women will have multiple abortions, and abortion rates very widely by race and socioeconomic status. But it's a starting point.

I would say that that information (if it were available) would be far from the facts. Most women, if they have had an abortion, wouldn't give that kind of information out, so the statistics would be skewed.

Abortion is NOT a form of birth control. I think your friends need to get some health education so they csn take better care of themselves, because any way you look at it, three abortions in a LIFETIME is too many.

When you factor in the fact that MOST American women have never had one, and add to that the fact that most women who do have one have ONLY one, the average would have to be something lower than 1.

According to the pro-abortion Alan Guttmacher Institute, 1 in 3 women will abort at least one child by age 45 (based on current rates). 48% of women who abort have aborted at least one child previously.

For this American woman: ZERO! Abortion just to get out of a parenting responsibility or because it's an inconvenience to you is wrong, point blank. You're friend ought to try using birth control pills or condoms. Abortion is not birth control; it's killing an innocent life.

There is no frickin average - most women don't ever have any -- sounds like you hang around some STD infested skanks.

SLUT-A-RAMAS. You need new friends. Abortion is not a form of birth control. You could probably drive an 18-wheeler through their vaginas.

I don't ever plan on having one.
