Well sheff is 38 but the Tigers already had the young arms they needed. This means the Tigers are giving up then for now. they are throwing away future to go for it all this year. Anyways Verlander, Bonderman, and Nate Robertson are all very young so they shouldnt hurt that much

Right Now the advantage is Tigers but in the next 2-3 years it will be Yanks

Yankees, The Tigers got a BIG bat, but a serious headcase, and mouth. The Yankees apparently got one of the best pitching prospects in ALL the Minor Leagues. along with 2 other good young arms, theyre all under 23..i think the yankees did better, because i Think Sheffield is starting to break down.

Tigers made out HUGE! Sheffield is one of the most feared hitters in baseball. Yankees are stupid. If they thought the pressure was too much for A-Rod before this trade, there is a whole new level of prssure NOW. A-Rod is now the ONLY power hitter the Yankees have from the right side of the plate. We'll see what happens with the 3 pitchers they got but Sheffield is a proven MAJOR league hitter. Too bad he didn't want to play 1st base. Tiger's fans are gonna love the guy. He's great!

The yankees did better. They were not going to pick up sheffields option, but did and traded him for 3 propects. They got 3 prospects for nothing other than picking up sheffields option.

the yankees did better. sheffield was injured last year. The tigers gave the yankess three pitching prospects for sheffield. Sheffield is also 38 yrs old. So the yankees may have did better.

I think that the Yankees did better, too. Sheffield is a CANCER on whatever team he plays for. I hate to see the Tigers throw away their youth for a 1 year fix, but it will bring them down I hate to say. I hate to see the Yankees get better.

You are absolutely right, the Yankees did pretty good. They need pitching and this will help them get closer to fixing that "old" pitching staff. The still have a great power lineup so if they can bring in some young arms the Yankees will be a force in the American League.

The Yankees did. They got 3 live arms and only gave up a spare part.

Yankees, definately

Good luck to the Tigers organization with Sheffield's incessant whining. Bat him 6th or 7th, that will really make him scream
