Everyone in the house can connect to the internet except for me. We use wireless connection. Someone has already told me that my MAC address has been blocked on the router by my parents or my brother and that's why I can't access the internet. Can someone tell me how I can login to the router and allow access? Thanks in advance!

PS. And where can I find the router password and username if it's even needed? I am new to this, so I don't know a lot about the wireless connections.

Some routers have default username/password combination set to admin/admin. Some have no password and username is admin. These is configurable and might have been changed for your particular router.

Although I have no reason to think that way, I have found MAC address based blocking is not done usually. If you are using a laptop with an external wireless device, you can easily change the device and gain access if it is MAC address based blocking.

More likely is the case that you have some kind of authentication in effect for your wireless connection (WEP or WPA are more likely); if so, you need to configure your connection with the correct authentication key and you will gain access.

Most wireless routers have normal RJ-45 ethernet ports as well, so you can buy ethernet cable and connect using wired connection instead of wireless connection.

I tend to think it is more of a configuration problem than MAC address based blocking, but if it is MAC address based blocking, you have to change the device to gain access; and I would rather you thought of your brother as being a lesser evil doer than that someone who categorically stated it is MAC address based blocking...

you can buy a new lan card and install it.
Each lan card has a unique MAC address.

you could log into the router but why not just push the reset button on the router?
take a paperclip and straighten it out. get the router and look on the backside for a small pinhole. - then put the point of the paperclip into the hole and you'll feel the buttion go down. Hold it for about 5 minutes. and it will se the router to factory defaults.

A MAC identity is a hardware identity. maximum units like video card, modems, verbal replace adapters and different upload-on units all have a special identity. that is often created on the time of manufacture and might't get replaced. An IP handle is an handle on a community that identifies that workstation on the community. IP addresses are assigned with the help of the community administrator (or immediately with the help of a router. IP addresses at the instant are not everlasting. in case you have a workstation, then your IP handle while linked on your place community would be diverse from the IP handle you have once you connect on your workplace community.
