I know it probably isn't the best thing to hear after a hard days work, but I put with it for 4-5 after he gets home and then when it is time to go to sleep I can't stand it anymore! I don't want his stinky *** in bed with me. It makes me gag sometimes. Also, I don't want to have to wash our sheets every freakin day cause he stinks them up. I tell him that I don't understand why he is offended when his stench is offensive to me. Why he can't he just jump in the shower for 2 minutes and rinse his body off?!
In his defense, our 2 yr old is demanding and wants to play with Daddy non stop when he gets home, I understand that but when he finally goes to bed why can't my husband take the opportunity to jump in the shower.

You could hop in there with him and make it more enjoyable.

A shower is always good after working hard. I know when I come home from working in construction I'm pretty dirty, But I like to relax for 20 minutes or so, maybe grab some food before I hop in the shower. Maybe he gets offended because of how you ask him. Try inviting him to shower with you, that may work.

yes the best thing is 4 him 2 take a shower, but he has feelings and when the woman that he loves tells him that he basically stink it squashes his self esteem. He works whole day then comes home and have 2 play with his son, maybe it is 2 tiring 4 him 2 bathe after all of that.

Why not take a shower together before bed? It's a heck of alot more loving than telling someone they stink. Think about it. How would YOU like it if the shoe was on the other foot?

Listen, I realize hygeine is important...I'm a shower at least once a day kind of gal....and I realize his odor is offensive but there are two things here that bother me....

One...he comes home after a HARD DAYS WORK

and Two....Your son keeps Daddy busy playing non-stop.

HHmmm....odor aside you sound pretty d*mn lucky to me girl!

Cut him some slack...be really REALLY sweet when you bring it up....

OR count your lucky stars that he is the hard worker he is, and the good dad he is and make yourself a bed on the couch!

Make him want to go straight in the bathroom when he gets home after work. Clean it up nicely.

Place a small table or stool in the bathroom. Make a habit of placing the mail, child drawings, etc. there.

Buy him soap especially for 'men'

Have a radio playing in there, dim lighting, a portable heater (in winter), a smelly candle, hell, a T.V., use your imagination ...

Serve his dinner plate in there!

guys can be so sensitive sometimes. when i approach mine with something i think he might take offense to - i try to make sure i word it the best way i can or try to make him think its his idea. this is not a new issue with you so i dont think you can make him think its his idea. but i might have to agree - jump in there with him. whos gonna turn that down? or you could have a nice bubble bath ready for him when he gets home. i know that sounds a bit girly, but some guys may enjoy that. not that you would ever tell anyone he took a bubble bath! one of their guilty pleasures! :)

Perhaps he suffering from depression. In any event a shower should be the norm. Don't wait until bed time to suggest it.

I wish i could find a reason but i honestly can't. It looks to me like it would not only make him smell better but he would sleep better. I cant blame you for having to resort to telling him........you are doing the right thing and let's just pray that one day he will take it upon himself to do this without being asked........good luck

He grew up not bathing is why. But that shouldn't stop him now that he's grown to take a bath. I do understand because filth can cause ringworm to all of you, even your child. You should tell him that. It's an itchy spot that eats away your skin if you didn't know. But you could look it up and it will tell you all the side effects it cause. I pray he began to bath because it's not healthy. God bless you.
