Does anyone know how I can connect my radar detectr to a switched power source so I can get rid of the cigeratte lighter cord. THe 2007 does not have any obvious places to get power. The sun roof power is not switched, for example.

I have successfully found power under the headliner. (sunroof, dome lights, etc) You will need to have an inexpensive electrical tester to test for power with switch on that goes away with switch off. You then will need to tap in to that wire with a tap and run to radar detector. Assuming that you will mount the detector high, it should be easy to pull a wire under the trim and headliner.

go to the fuse panel and wire it direct from scratch, its not that hard and you can locate the switch and unit where ever you wish, just make sure the whole system is protected with a fuse.
