Many people think Notre Dame is overrated, but are they really underrated?

Peopla are really giving them no chance to beat USC.

People just love to hate Notre Dame! Look at their schedule on how they start every season! Michigan, Michigan St., Georgia Tech, Purdue. Those are great teams they they battle against! Then they get Air Force,Navy , Ucla,etc. The only easy game in that is Navy! Then they Usually get tough teams again(USC,Flordia St.Boston College, Stanford(those were good teams in the years they played them) The Big Ten starts of with teams like Northwestern St, Ball St.and University of Ohio. Some even play Division 2 schools. Then they play Northwestern, Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana(improved this year)and Iowa. No one says nothing about their schedule. Notre Dame has a tough road and no respect when they lose to a team like Michigan. What happened last year against USC? They lost ,but played a hell of a game!
To answer your question, they are very underrated!!

They are a good team but they struggled to beat Georgia Tech and UCLA. They also were hammered by Michigan. UCLA has very little on offense and they were seconds away from winning.
So based on there performance I say they are about right where they should be.

USC will probably beat them but USC is a very young team. USC only has 6 players on its 2 deep roster that are seniors. The secondary is especially young meaning Brady maybe able to get something working. At the same time USC offense is improving now and Jarrett and Smith are finally both healthy. It will be a competitive game but USC probably wins by 10 points.

We have one loss this year. To the #2 team in the country. Yes, we have had some close calls, but so have a bunch of other teams. More have had less than stellar performances against some pretty small and/or anemic teams. Notre Dame gets a lot of attention because of who they are, but they also have a ton of haters. There are coaches that have came right out & said that they have, and will always, vote ND down just because they don't like them. No matter how good they are. We'll just have to see how the rest of the season turns out. GO IRISH!!!

Notre Dame wins the game. As for the people who complain about the schedule that ND has, they dont play army, and air force ever year only Navy. Year in and year out they have a top 20 schedule including this year ranked(13). They can beat USC at USC this year and play in a bcs bowl game and win. Not the title game though...

If Oregon State can beat USC, then ND actually has a chance. But it's still not a very good chance. USC's offense has found its identity and will be tough to beat.

Yes...to a certain extent. I mean, they don't belong to a conference. Independent Conf. is not a conference because they don't have a Conference Champion trophy. Look at their schedule. They always play Navy, Air Force and Army. 3 Guarantee Wins. If they refuse to join a ligitimate conference, then they need to schedule tougher teams. They backed againts Miami and against Texas. They are good, but they schedule cream-puffs too many times.
