There's no definition, it's a state of mind.

What defines being a woman?

Defining a boy from a man, respect, responsibility, and the ability to take care of ones self and support ones family. The ability to think before you act and know the difference between right and wrong.

Same feelings for defining a girl from a woman.

Everything else is just physically growing.

Tim McGraw put it best in the following song:

Girl you've never known no one like me
Up there in your high society
They might tell you I'm no good
Girl they need to understand
Just who I am
I may be a real bad boy
But baby I'm a real good man

I may drink too much and play too loud
Hang out with a rough and rowdy crowd
That don't mean I dont respect
My mama or my uncle sam
Yes sir, yes ma'am
I may be a real bad boy
But baby I'm a real good man

I might have a reckless streak
At least a country-mile wide
If youre gonna run with me
I'ts gonna be a wild ride
When it comes to loving you
Ive got velvet hands
I'll show you how a real bad boy
Can be a real good man

I take all the good times I can get
I'm too young for growing up just yet
Aint much I can promise you
'cept to do the best I can
I'll be damned
I may be a real bad boy
But baby Im a real good man

I may be a real bad boy
Oh but baby I'm a real good man
Yes I am

;)

The answer to this question is as varied as men are themselves. From a woman's point of view, what defines a man is his honesty, or the lack of it, when it will cost him the most. When a man could lie & it will or won't cost him anything, is when you watch a man. You listen, too. Observing a man when he is trying to make an all or nothing decision is when you find out what kind of man he is.

a man is strong physically as well as mentally and spiritually.
a man knows right from wrong and acts accordingly.
a man accepts responsibility
a man acts on a situation instead of talking about it
a man is subtle, not arrogant or cocky
a man is productive
a man always strives to improve the lives of those surrounding him
a man has courage and wisdom
real men are hard to find in today's society. Sad fact, but it seems to be a result of overpopulation. We used to have to be real men in order to survive and flourish. now not so much. our fathers have done well, and we (American men) are the result of lives of luxury and leisure.

The bills come before play. He has never cheated on me, and he spoils me rotten. I Have two sons, he treated them like his own. He makes me feel save, and loved. That started Ten yrs ago, and he is still going strong. He's a real man! )O(

when the man plays the cards he is dealt . no it does not mean owning a house or having a job it means doing the best you can and doing the most right and good you can . learning what you believe in and being able to with stand pressure to change your beliefs. also it means having beliefs but sometimes being able to accept that they were wrong and changing according to your new knowledge.

Kindness, compassion, confidence, a certain amount of dominance. Anything less or negative, makes a Man only a male.

Soooo many qualities to make a "good" man. You'll know it when you see it. I know at the top of the list are integrity and self respect. Good rule of thumb..."First, do no harm" words to live by, I say.

Great question...requires more depth of thought than I can give for this section, so I regress to the board.
