I fail to understand why any black person can be offended at the term, *****. It is the correct racial and identifiable term that has been used for centuries, just as Caucasian and Mongoloid has been used. There is absolutely no inference that the word ***** is offensive, nor should it be taken as such.

The word ***** may have been the initial root by which derivations came into play with the ultimate "N" word, but to say that ***** is offensive is to say that Spanish is offensive to that certain Hispanic group living in Spain.

Yet those taking offense choose to take offense. It is a choice people make; it is not a condition inflicted or imposed upon us by someone else. To allow an offense to take hold a person submits to unnecessary hurt or humiliation and by doing so, alienates himself from others.

I agree that the "N" word is offensive in several ways and shouldn't be used--even among the black peoples. Yet some use it lightheartedly, in jest and in soft banter. Nevertheless, those taking offense choose to do so and will never move up and beyond the frailties and shortcomings of weaker man.

People have called me a cracker many times. So what? I laugh at it because I choose not to take offense at such a trivial exchange. There are far more important things in life that should be taken seriously than worry over identifiable names.

Some will, but who cares? That's like someone saying cracka or honkey and not caring about the certain people who get offended.
