Is the tabloid paper's reliance on xenophobic portrayals of foreigners, degradation of women, and trivial subject matters, sending journalism to the gutter? How do feminists react to naked vicky from liverpool on page three of the Sun, giving her view on current affairs? Should our children be brought up believing that Britney Spears's new baby is more important than the current political climate?

Freedom of speech is one the reasons our brave soldiers have gone to war, a protection like every single item in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution (which are not, as some would have you believe, expendible due to the whims of national security). People are free to say what they want in tabloids, because of this right. As for journalism, that's like comparing "Desperate Housewives" to "Citizen Kane," they are from two very different parts of the spectrum. My fear, though, is that as time goes on, people won't notice.

invoice O'Reilly - Tabloid journalism? he's have been given an MA in Broadcast Journalism and cut back his tooth with investigative reporting at substantial industry television stations - even earning an Emmy interior the approach. How is that 'tabloid' journalism? the real issue is which you're so used to seeing the 'left' point of view on the different networks. So while FOX covers 'all' of the information, it particularly is attacked for having a 'good wing' point of view - with the aid of fact the different networks do no longer carry the memories it consists of. they gained't carry those memories - with the aid of fact all of them have a left-wing time table. Case and element: ex-DOJ lawyer Christian Adams quits the Obama administration with the aid of fact Eric Holder refused to prosecute the Black Panthers -- inspite of video information of them status exterior polling places with batons in hand. FOX is the only community to cover the story in any respect. Google it. no longer something everywhere different than FOX and good-wing guides. there's a issue there. you're apprehensive approximately 'tabloid journalism?' How approximately 'corrupt journalism.' I element to exhibit "A" - each and all of the cable information networks different than FOX -- plus ABC, NBC and CBS. that must be your genuine concern.

Most tabloids are inane rubbish and I think most people realise that. The ones that really bother me are those that like to imagine they have some air of respectability - the Daily Mail and the Express particularly. They create real problems in society.

My thoughts exactly, SteveNaive. They're perpetuating the sort of views - anti-youth, anti-women, anti-choice (in all areas of life), pro-religion, lack of tolerance for anyone and anything that's not "100% British" (to use one of their favourite terms) - that should've been stamped out years ago. What's it going to take for the public to see them for the immature, closed-minded, bigoted idiots they are? IMHO, it's time they were both shut down.

Sorry to disillusion you boss but the average ordinary IQ, if it was electric current, would not power an LED. They have to be catered for. Stick to the Times.

there is no honest journalism...they all start out covering trivia and once its in the blood they need to sniff out the next story..dressing up the truth to catch the editors eye becomes a way of life...watch out lol
