The coldest place on earth is the south pole, which is in Antarctica so Antarctica is colder. South pole is even colder than north pole, but so is Siberia. This is because north pole is surrounded by ocean which doesn't let is get too cold.
Here are coldest temp readings:

south pole: -83C
siberia: -71.2
north pole: -58C

antartica because it recieves the least sunlight one earth. it has no year-round residents except for flies. penguins only stay there in the summer. it is the coldest place on earth. siberia reaches 40 below, but antartica is lower than that.
