Some people may exclude them because of their way of dress, but if they wear veils because of religious or social beliefs (modesty, whatever), it's not really only self imposed, it's part of a bigger social arena, dictated by their family too.

It could very well be - but it is a CHOICE they have made. Turbans should also keep these men from our police force and military, etc. If you cannot wear the prescribed uniform then you should NOT apply for the job. Go to their country and offer to sign up in the police "provided you can wear your Canadian baseball cap" You will be shot!
Where we are today is "the total sum of all the decisions we have made up till now." Our decisions in life WILL effect our destination in life.
Self-imposed discrimination is a choice for each individual to make.

Discriminaton? If a black person decides not to join the Army for fear of racism, is this self imposed disrimination? Or should a muslim refuse to join the Army as it might be against their belief to fight against other Muslims, is this self imposed?

The style of dress is self-imposed but the subsequent discrimination (if it can rightly be called that) is imposed externally.

yes, they refuse to follow society's norms, yet scream discrimination when they are refused things like driver's licences and passports because they refuse to take off their veils.
