This is not the same as asbestos.
At worst, contact may make you feel itchy and I would definitely clean it off as well as possible for that reason.
If this is a regular thing (people going into the attic), you may want to put something on top of the fiberglass (like sheets of plastic), where people would most likely pick it up otherwise.

You can be concerned if this fiberglass insulation is uncovered. It will blow in your air vents.

It will also make you really itch. That is how I realized that my a/c unit was leaking fiberglass.

I believe you are someone who loves and cares for your child and that is never being nuts. Have the attic checked out thoroughly. Also, wear protective mask when going to the attic. Yes, those fibers can get into your lungs and cause damage.

NO harm whatsover.....unless you rub it on your skin, or your eyes....in fact I have rubbed it on my skin many times... an it only becomes a bit red from irritation like a scrape...for a day or so...

This is not the same as asbestos, don't worry, I've worked with it for years.

fiber glass is just that, glass fibers. Please don't throw away the glasses, and stay out of the attic.
