And the fact that they have a history of raising taxes is not proof.
Also, why do republicans think Rangel is one of the most important democrats? He simply said he wouldn't extend the tax cuts in 2010. He didn't say he would raise taxes. On top of that, Pelosi and Reid have already stated maybe a thousand times that the plan is to reverse the tax cuts for the 1% richest Americans and help the middle class and poor with the rising cost of living. If you don't believe Pelosi and Reid, you are not believing the truth. And that's not our fault.

Well that's fine. Once all of you realize you were wrong, you will have both feet planted firmly in your mouth, while desperately trying to eat your words.

Past performance is a good indication of what you will do in the future. Everytime the democrats have been in power, they have raised taxes, pretty good indication that they will do it again. If the democrats do not extend the tax cuts, taxes on every economical population will go up, (If that's not raising taxes what is) If you will look at the democrats closely, you will find that they are the rich, they fought the mininum tax act because they then had to pay a small portion of their income to income tax. If you believe that the rich will pay taxes under the democrats, please stand on your head and whistle Dixie. If you believe Big Business (that horrible thing) should be taxed more, remember that taxes are an expense on business and that they will then raise their prices on their products to keep their profit margin. Even if the tax rate on the richest Americans is increased, the amount of money generated would not run the Federal Govt for 1 day.

The Democrats didn't raise taxes primarily because it wasn't politically viable. The public was on an anti-tax rampage at the time, and they knew that any tax hike would cost them both the House and Senate in 2010. The reason the Democrats gave for not raising taxes was that it would actually make the recession worse, but I think privately, many of them agreed that high taxes weren't the cause of the recession and that if we don't raise taxes soon, we'll become fiscally insolvent as a nation.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but the history of the democratic party is proof. Every democratic administration has raised taxes. Charlie Rangel has said that he would repeal every one of Bush's tax cuts. I wouldn't believe anything that comes out of Pelosi or Reid's mouths. I am lower middle class and I vote republican and will continue to. Let Pelosi move to Venezuela and make out with Hugo Chavez and Harry Reid can go back to sin city and do research for Jim Webb's next homoerotic novel.

This country is 8 trillion dollars in debt. This year we paid a half a trillion dollars in interest alone on that debt. Someday, some year, someone will have to raise taxes to pay some of that national debt off. Right now, it appears that the Democrats are more fiscally responsible than the Republicans, so they will probably have to raise taxes. The shame in that is that a large part of that debt is a result of the Bush Administrations failures.

You sort of answered your question within your statement. By not extending the tax in 2010 the tax will go up. Dems have been saying they won't do allow the extension so the tax goes up. Pelosi and Reid said they will reverse tax cuts so taxes will go up for that 1%.
So the proof that the Republicans have that the Dems will raise taxes is in the Dems own statements and yours as well.

I make above minimum wage but I am no where near being rich.
I received tax breaks that are beneficial to my family. How are not extending the tax cuts and raising minimum wage (which will in turn raise the price of everything else to cover the increase to employers) going to help me?
This is proof of raising my taxes! If you are taking away some of my income you are more or less taxing me!

the best indication for what will happen in the future is what happened in the past.
Dems historical raise taxes (exception JFK)
while Reps historical lower taxes (exception Bush Sr.)
the Dems and Reps each want a prosperous America (I hope) they just have different plans to take America there.
you should take an objective view of the past (look at the numbers) and try and see which plan has worked better before deciding which plan you think is the best.
but remember you live in America so when the Reps are in charge they will the follow their plan and like wise for the Dems
that is why I think the Dems will raise taxes!

Rangel said "no tax cuts are safe". And he is referring to reimposing them, not letting them die a natural death.
And as head of the Ways and Means committee he will be heading the most important house committee.
ADDED: The tax cuts to be reimposed include the tax breaks and credits for the poorest of the poor, the marriage penalty, the child tax credit, the inheritance tax and income of over $200,000.
These tax hikes will affect everyone. When the tax on the rich go up their investments come out of stocks and into tax exempt investments. That hurts the market and the economy while DECREASING tax revenues.

By not extending the tax cuts, he automatically raises taxes. As for their 1% line of hokum, last time a Democrat said that my taxes went up over $500.00 and I know I am not the top 1%.

The "1%" you are referring to is actually middle class America. You need to admit to yourself that you are a freeloading communist. I work very hard for my barely above average living. Get your theiving fingers out of my pockets before I cut them off.
You hate the people that work twice as hard as you do because they get ahead. You hate your supervisor because he makes more than you do. You hate your employer because he is successful and you are not. Who is going to hire lazy democrats when you get done taxing all the businesses out of existence?
Have you ever noticed that the democrats you want in power really are the richest 1% of Americans? No, you ignore that don't you.
If you want to find out what happens when communist liberals are in charge, just look at the economy in California.
