Unfortunately, it's a scam :-(

"Experts at SophosLabs™, Sophos's global network of virus, spyware and spam analysis centers, have warned of an email scam that pretends to be notification of a lottery win from Coca-Cola.

The emails, which have the subject line "COCA COLA PROMOTION", have been spammed out to internet users claiming that the recipient has won $2.5 million in a lottery held by Coca-Cola earlier this month. The email recipient is told they are one of only 50 lucky winners around the world who were selected randomly after computers found their email address on internet websites.

To collect their winnings, people are told to call, phone or fax an agent who claims to be working on behalf of the soft drinks giant.

However, Sophos warns computer users that this is a ruse to steal personal details, and that the fraudsters behind the scam campaign can use such information to steal money from bank accounts and commit identity fraud. "

Did you enter a competition run by Coca Cola? If not, then you can't have won one - simple as that.

It's against the law for any company to simply enter you into a draw without telling you - so I think you can safely assume it is a scam.

Do you remember seeing all the ads on tv about coca colas amazing million pound giveaway?
No neither do I... so do you not think its a little strange that they would have such a large competition prze with no publicity atall?

It is so widely known trick now I do not see how people can still think its real but they do - and hundreds of people a month are still getting ripped off by thousands of pounds.

Did you enter any contests with Coca-Cola? No? Then guess what, they aren't going to be giving you an award of any type.

Authentic looking emails are how scammers reel in fish like you.

If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. As others have replied, unless you have entered a competition, it is a scam.

Just junk anything which says you've won. People don't give you money for nothing.

Don't click on the link !

It will be a scam from the first click.

Whatever you do, don't give them any banking details.
Just delete the mail and if you've clicked on anything, clean up you computer straight away. Spyware, adware, trojans, etc. Anything can come from a clicked link if your system isn't correctly protected.
