You're forgetting that between his first statement and Rumsfeld's resignation there was something called an ELECTION in which the President's party lost power in the House and Senate.

I'd say that is an event enough that might have made Bush reconsider things.

I saw the press conference, did you? Have you ever decided to leave a job? Would you be pleased if someone came along and said you had been fired even though you left due to your own reasons? Do you really think Rumsfeld wants to be the beating post for a democrat led congress?

Who is the liar, you or the President?

Of course it was wrong. He purposely misled the voters so that he wouldn't sway even more of them to the left. But oh well, that's just one more lie that Bush didn't get away with. I'm just glad Rumsfeld is gone.

No... that was a matter of Politics.

I don't have the exact quote handy, but WAS he lying if he said "I am happy with Don Rumsfeld" ??

It's really a SAD outcome of the Clinton Era were now EVERY statement, word, or whisper is parsed by the opposition for lies, hidden meanings, or demonic possesion!

Heck, Slick Willie convinced his party that oral sex ISN'T really "SEX".

From what I see, Bush was telling the truth. He WAS happy with Rumsfeld. It was Rumsfeld's idea to resign, not Bush's. If he didn't resign, he'd still be there.

Yes, it's wrong but because Rumsfeld didn't give Bush a BJ, nothing will come of it! That's where Clinton blew it - getting blown.
