I am Independent, so I'll give people I like on both sides:
For Democrats, I like Barack Obama, retired General Wesley Clark, Russ Feingold, and our new congressman Paul Hodes and congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter from NH.
For Republicans, I like Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins of Maine. and Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island.
As you can probably tell, I lean toward moderates rather than the fringes.

My favorite Democrat is Harold Ford Jr. I've often told my wife that if I was somehow to become president (Reaganite conservative), I would ask Harold Ford to be VP. I think he is someone that both parties could work with and he seems to be willing to find the places where people can agree instead of only looking for reasons to fight each other.

Last one I liked was Fritz Mondale. Would never vote for him, but anybody who can laugh at a joke by his opponent at his own expense can't be all that bad.
When Reagan quipped in the 1984 presidential race, "I will not make age an issue of this campaign. I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent's youth and inexperience." Fritz got a good chuckle out of that. I like anybody who can laugh at themselves. He was also an honest liberal - he did not couch his beliefs behind conservative words.

JFK and JFK he was more of a Republican than most of them in office, And I think that his brother would have made him sick to see what he has done to the democratic party.
