Was it more seats than Kerry cost the Dems by his refusal to apologize for the botched joke?

Did it cost Bush the Senate as well?

Bush isn't in it to make sure Republicans win; he wants America to be a winner. Sure there are party lines but there is also a unity of everyone; this whole thing has restored my faith in the mechanism of our government established by the genius and wisdom of the founding fathers. They were really smart! And, Bush was insightful to not inject this change before elections.

As for Kerry, too many times when he opens his mouth he goofs up.

For every seat he would have picked up he would have probably lost one.

Firing Rummy before the election would have looked like appeasing the Democrats, costing him votes in the "locked" conservative districts. That would have been worse than winning a few of the toss up states.

I don't think that had much of anything to do with the outcome of the elections, quite honestly. Nor did Kerry's botched 'joke'.

It was something else completely.
