Its the juiciest most tender turkey ever. Just roast it breast side down for the first two hours. Then turn it over and continue to roast.

For funky K use a roasting rack so that the turkey is elevated off of the bottom of the pan. Good luck

Yes, I roast my turkey that way, and also my chicken, too. Very tender and moist.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

Sure I do. Every time I cook a turkey. it is the most tender and juiciest way to cook a turkey. I stuff my turkey with the dressing and then put it in the oven at 325Deg. Breast Down. I don't take my turkey to the table, I slice it first.

I just started doing that a couple of years ago, and it is the best way to roast turkey or chicken. The thickest part of the meat is on the breast, so it takes longer to cook. I also wash the bird with scalding hot water inside and out - and that makes it even better.

I did by accident years ago when I was cooking at a friends house. I knew something did not look right when I put the turkey in the oven but could not figure out what it was. I was not till my friend got home and went to baste the turkey he ask why it was upside down.
It did turn out ok and every thing but i have not forgetten that.

Naturally cause the juices run into the breast which is usually the driest part of the bird. I've done the same thing with chickens for years. Another good way to insure you get a moist turkey is to brine the bird before cooking. Did it for the first time last thanksgiving and it came out great.

im suprised more people dont realise this

also add a little water to the baking dish ~ keeps meat moist and its less fatty than adding stuff to it

i did try it once but all the skin stuck to the pan so it may have been moist but it was ugly how do you stop that from happening.
