We each have skills in different areas. So we each help others on our area of skill. And others help us in the areas we are low skilled.

I think the problem is with the word only. There are more purposes in life than helping others. It's just hard to find one that is more fulfilling. It matters if there are others that don't help others because it makes it that much harder for those who help others. But if people decide not ot help others it shouldn't weigh on people who choose to help others.
I know it seems too much to ask for people to take on, but it's not about one person getting the whole job done. Every little bit helps. And since there are so many ways to help, one can never know how much things are being affected.

"If we're only here to help others, those people are here to help others as well."
This argument, although entirely accurate, proceeds from a flawed premise... that we are only here to help others. IF we were to take this assumption on face value, then it makes perfect sense. On the other hand, I do not accept that assumption myself.
I believe that we are all, the entire human race, participating in the evolution of mankind. We are about as physically & intellectually evolved as we can possibly be. Mankind needs to evolve Spiritually.
I believe that we are all working through our karma by interacting with each other, for without other living creatures to relate to, karma is useless. Mostly, we are here to learn from and experience each other, and ultimately... to love each and every one.

What?!?!? Believe me, no one can do it alone. There comes a time where everyone needs help, and thus, you should always be willing to give it too. What are you smoking???

Good question for God: Seems like there is no reason for anybody to be here.
But yet, nobody wants to die.
