How do you like my D?

I'm a New Jersey native, Rutgers graduate, and lifetime season ticket holder. So I know how I feel about this season, and I know what the buzz is like in New Brunswick.

Can you tell me what the perception is in different areas? Let me know where you're from, who you root for, and what you think of Rutgers this year. Did you see them play before last night? Could your team beat them?

Rutgers is a good team and they deserve to play for the title if they win out.

I live in Texas, but I grew up in Tennessee. College football is my #1 sport to watch/attend, and I've followed it closely for a long time.

First of all, Rutgers is having a great season. You should enjoy the ride, wherever it takes you.

I don't want to burst your bubble but, IMO, Rutgers is a Top 25 team at best. They have played a really soft schedule, as have all Big East teams. They are the equivalent of Boise State, BYU, etc., that run the table against lesser teams but are not quite ready for top notch competition (SEC, Big 10, Big 12, and possibly ACC). Even if Rutgers wins out, I can think of at least five or six one-loss teams that still deserve the berth in the BCS title game - maybe even some two-loss teams.

That having been said, up to this point, they've done all that could be expected of them this year - they've beaten every team on their schedule. It's not the team's fault that the schedule is so soft. The sad thing is, with no playoff system, that we may not have an oppty to see just how good they are.

My question to you is, do you think you'll be able to keep your coach after this season, or will he head down to Thug U in Miami?

Congrats on a great year.

PS. Just because a team goes undefeated does not necessarily make them better than every team with a loss. By making that assertion, you are also implying that an unbeaten 1-AA or Div. 2 team is better than any 1-A team with at least one loss.

Sorry but, as they say in the South, that dog won't hunt.

I've been living in North Brunswick for 3 years now and have been going to Rutger's during this time. I love football and have enjoyed this season (obviously) but have become a little annoyed at the increasing numbers of people wearing the Red and acting like they have been life-long fans. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see all the support RU and their players have been getting, I just hope they continue to root for them whether they are 9-0 or if they're 0-9. I may not have lived here as long as some, but I was rooting for the Knights in 2004 when they only won 4 games. I wore the colors proudly then and still wear them proudly now. Last nights game was great and I hope this season will help to bring more talented players like Rice to Jersey and keep all the talented players from Jersey, in-state, and keep the Scarlet Knights top contenders for years to come.

Im in Nashville, Tennessee wher college football is king. I was honestly pulling for Rutgers. I love upsets (unless its my team losing) and I hate the BCS system. I want playoffs so teams like Rutgers, (who starts out un-ranked) can lengthen there season by continuing to win. At least they will be a pre-season top 20 team next year and as long as they continue to win, they will get more appreciation and respect. I was very impressed with their running back, composure of their QB and their will to fight, even after giving up a TD on Louisville's first possession then 100 yard kick off return. This is the first time Ive ever watched them and I found the game to be entertaining.

Alot of people are skeptical of there ability to beat a top 5 caliber team. Can they really hang with a OSU, Michigan, Texas, LSU, Auburn? The answer is mostly like no way. If they would have scheduled a really tough non conference foe then there wouldn't be as much debate. Could Rutgers go undefeated in the SEC, Big 10, Pac-10? No way.

I am happy to see them doing well! The true underdog story...a school that just 5 years ago had 1 win, and 6 years ago, no wins. I was really rooting for them last night against Lousiville. However, I don't think they will be able to play for the Championship...a wonderful story, a great season (still have to beat WV), I would really like to see how they would fair against a Big 10 or SEC school.

I'm not a rah rah college football fan but I do keep track and watch some. Objectively speaking, If Rutgers wins out and don't get a shot at the championship it will be an injustice.

I like to see underdog teams do well, shake things up.
I'm from California. I like Cal, I think they would definitely beat Rutgers. I saw Rutgers play Arizona St in that bowl in Phoenix last year.

Impressive win against Louisville.

TX - Texas A&M

Haven't followed Rutgers closely enough to give you a real opinion about their team.
