I have an electric oven and I scrapped all the bottom and the only smoke appears to be comming from the coils at the bottom, if I leave it on for awhile will it eventually quit smokin and also is it dangerous to breath in the smoke? or cook in it? Any advice on how to get it more clean.

i does no longer propose turning the oven on because it may take just some extra seconds to get too warm and start up the burn technique all over again. a a lot safer way is to apply chilly. in case you have a chest freezer, placed the rack interior and flow away it for an hour or greater to freeze. The plastic will probable be greater brittle than it turn into in the previous heated, and, as quickly as chilled, this is going to cut loose rather cleanly. If no freezer is available, you may placed the rack on a tray on your refrigerator and %. ice around the plastic. comparable expectation, yet you may ought to do it a pair of cases. Fumes? confusing to declare, because of the fact the form of plastic isn't familiar. in maximum cases, the fumes are no longer constructive to the human physique, yet once you're rather wholesome, and the exposure is rather short, they do no longer seem to be sufficiently poisonous as to do any severe or lasting harm.

yes it is dangerous to breath the fumes, and yes it will eventually burn off or cause a fire (as the plastic melts it becomes a mass of molted plastic this is very flammable)

try using ice and a plastic" wool "scraper, ask the hardware to give you a scrubber for teflon pots.. that's the type to use here.

use safety goggles.. unplug stove, use ice then rub/scrap the melted plastic off try not to get the electric box wet (hence ice vs water with ice you have more control.. on area getting wet)... this is slow but its safe (no chemicals) and works very well. let oven dry off . please dry your hands (many people don't before plugging in something.. i also check the cord with dry hands follow the cord in your hand to the stove, feel and tears ect replace cord. before plugging in be sure to dry the end of the plug it may have inadvertently got wet.

unplug the oven then scrape as much plastic off the heating elements as you can. then turn the oven on very high and let it heat up a while and burn off the remainder of the plastic before you cook food in it. i wouldnt suggest eating food cooked in it while the plastic is burning. I dont think it would smell or taste good at all.
good luck.,

Yes it will burn off but it will be stinky. I would just leave the kitchen when you do it.
