As much as I'd like to say that I wouldn't, because I am opposed to those actions, I'm sure I would find myself being somewhat hypocritical and saying that we should take those actions. It's very hard to say. I just believe that taking away civil liberties is a slippery slope. It's just hard to balance freedom and safety. I know what I think now, but I'm human, and I can't say that my opinions wouldn't change with another big attack.

The next time we get attacked I will be very sad and want revenge for those who did it. But I will be able to be strong knowing that they are attacking a free country. And know that freedom is ultimately what makes this country strong. And that giving up our freedoms is conceding to the terrorists. And that if we give up our freedoms, then their attacks will have worked to not only kill Americans, but they will have succeeded in making us, a little bit like the terrorists. I don't want to see terrorists win in their battle to end American freedom.

What if it's before January Karnak will you still blame whoever it is you are blaming? Nice to see the constitution is only a piece of paper to you. I happen to mind my government taking away my civil liberties. I guess you won't mind if the cops come busting into your house without the legal right to do so, or does it only matter when you are affected?

solid132- You have no idea what your talking about. This "wiretapping" thing is so blown out of proportion! The amount of hoops that they still have to jump through to even listen to a phone conversation, much less find out exactly who they are listening to is staggering.

Do some research about it and you will find out that this whole thing is a political football used by the DEMS and they are making our country less secure by doing it!

you wont be so all for that kind of thing when it is your door they are knocking on!! They don't distinguish between american citizen and terrorists. Those are pretty loose guidelines when deeming someone a terrorists. It is too much power for them to have, but whatever you asked for it.

Jeez, you'll make a great little Nazi. Stand up, like a man, and stop being so frightened. Your clarity of thought will be much better.

They have been interrogating people and tapping phone lines and all they have come up with is Republican corruption. It sounds like Bush's plan is backfiring.

So has it been worth it?
