Below is a link to a National Geographic article discussing this issue. The short answer is that marine animals, including sharks, unfortunate enough to be caught up in a tsunami usually end up dead. Just as smaller waves often throw seaweed and jellyfish up on beaches to swelter and dry in the sun, tsunamis wash up marine animals of all shapes and sizes. As the article below mentions, in the wake of last year's tragedy, dolphins were found as much as 1500 feet inland and sharks were being pulled out of swimming pools. Additionally, tsunamis destroy coral reefs, both by shattering their infrastructure and by covering them in silt and debris.

If they were a reasonable distance from the shore, virtually nothing. The wave was probably only a few feet high.
