Lieberman says he'll be a Democrat when the Senate recovenes, and Harry Reid says he'll maintain his seniority in the party, but if he ran and was elected as an Independent... what will he be officially? Can he change to a Democrat (i.e. D-CT), or will he just have to caucus as one while officially listed as an Independent (i.e. I-CT)?

I think he's being counted as a Democrat. That "independent" thing was just to get his name on the ballot after he failed to win the primary.

He's officially an Independent, but will probably vote as a Democrat on most things.
