I'm going to be suplimenting my income house cleaning in my area. I'm not working with a company just doing it for the extra cash. What is a good asking rate? I will be doing basic chores and dusting, that sort of thing. No laundry... ???
thanks

I know someone who does house keeping on the side, same as you with no company, and she won't take anything less than $15 an hour, that's also Canadian.

You should also see what others are charging in your area. You don't want to ask too much and lose business. Try and stay relatively the same as every one else.

My friends service charges 60 as a base price and then depending on what they want her to do she will add for extra services. For the 60 she does basic dusting vacuuming and mopping the floors. She will give the kitchen a wipe down and thats it.

We tried to hire a maid once... she asked $15 for just an hour twice a week. And she was going to vacuum, mop and dust our family room, kitchen, dining room, breakfast room and den. Also she was going to scrub the toilets and tubs. (2 1/2bathrooms)
No picking up toys or anything - just cleaning.
She never started because of another client that took our slot or something....
