I have to put an ethernet card into my 10 yr old computer. I have the back cover off the computer, but I need to "punch out" the metal slot so the metal part of the ethernet card is sticking out. I see no screws there, so how do I get the metal slot out of the back cover? Am I making any sense?

If it has a screw on it, unscrew it and pull it out. If there is no screw then you can use the tapping method to loosen it and then pull it out.
