Was just curious if you as a caucasion feel as if you are ever discriminated against? I am not a racist and don't want to sound like one. But I have felt discriminated against several times. Some people feel that only other races are discriminated against. I don't agree with that.

Kc,....I have had that happen too. I worked construction and had to deal with that. But most men respected the fact that I "held my own" so I didn't hear it but from one person alot.

Greg,... Were you one of the slaves, one that had to ride in back of bus? I doubt it. Have you been slaughtered? NO but yet you live in the past when you weren't even born. I had NOTHING to do with slave days and really get sick of hearing about them. I am sorry for what your race went through then but I can't change that. But if you don't believe caucasions are discriminated against you are sadly mistaken. Take for instance if someone discriminated against a caucasion person at work and they tried to sue we would get laughed at. But if it was someone of other race they would gladly assist you in any way possible.

I want to thank you all for your responses. Now I know it isn't just me that feels this way. The sad thing is that we can't do anything about being discriminated against. I would like to share a story with you,....
I left my ex and I was very ill,...running fever for 3 months that ill. I was going to get a job ( had done construction work before) but my sister talked me into going and getting help so I could get well then worry about getting a job. Here I am a single mother of 2 that is ill. I go to welfare office and they tell me I have to go to orientation,so I did. Before it started there are several women of color bragging about having their 5th or 6th child all big and pregnant and how they will take anything the government gives them. I didn't pay any mind to it. The workers were laughing with them. I am the only white woman in there and the worker comes up to me and ask in a rude voice "Why aren't you working?" I said excuse me. She repeated herself. I then lost it,.....

I looked at her and told her,..."Lady do you see how red my face is,....it isn't because I am sunburnt. Do you see the tears in my eyes,...It isn't because I am overjoyed to be here. And furthermore,..this is one da** time I am not going to let my pride stand in my way and you are going to help me before I leave here." She started to tell me that they couldn't help me and I told her YOU WILL if you help all the other ladies in here. Needless to say they did but didn't want to. I went to the doctor and was told I should be dead. I had a kidney, bladder, upper resp., strep throat, and more all of which were infections.
Now tell me that isn't discrimination?
I have been discriminated against on jobs, have failed to get jobs due to discrimination, and the list goes on and on!!!
Thanx again everyone for the responses.
Maybe one day the discrimination will end.

Greg,...I would like to also say,...you asked if we ever get hollered bad names? Well you tell me if "this" is what you mean.
My son was in cub scouts last year,..8 years old,....There was one child of "color" in his den. He was mean to everyone. He told my son one day "You will be my servant when you grow up!" my son hadn't even said anything to him.
Is this discrimination,...
you see on tv all the time about "*****" college funds,....
yet if someone started a "caucasion" college fund it would be considered discrimination or racism you take your pick.
Now with that being said could a caucasion person get the help from a "*****" college? I seriously doubt it. If they didn't and hollered discrimination,...what do you think would happen? NOTHING they would get laughed at!
"Reservations"? I suppose you mean Indian reservations. Well the Indians deserve land. Are you saying that land was only taken from "colored" people and made into reservations? that is a new one for me!!

Or would this be considered discrimination,...
Growing up my mother tried to get help from the government,...
my sister took her to apply,
my sister lived in another town keep in mind,
didn't even live with my mother and my other sister,
My sister had just got a Tempo (car)
However there were people getting out of FANCY cars trimmed in gold
But not my sisters. The worker asked if my mother had a car,my mother told them no.My sister told them the situation. And the worker looked at my mother and told them they couldn't help her. Told my sister to sell her car and help her mother.
With that being said,...do you think they helped the people of "color" that had fancy cars? OF Course They did!!
Discrimination? What do you Think? I think so!

If that isn't enough discrimination,..
Here is one for you,...
My sister was 21 years old and had a baby that was 1 1/2 years old,
My sister got cancer (Hodgkin's Disease)
She filed for disability or ssi,
Took 2 YEARS to get help.
And a "colored" woman she knew filed about a week after her that had some minor disability and she got help with 6 months.
Discrimination or coincidence? you decide

Any one who thinks whites don't get discriminated against is VERY VERY ignorant! Any white person who has grown up as a minority in there area has felt discrimination as bad as any one else. The truth is that discrimination happens to all races. Just because we (yes, I'm white) are the (slowly declining) majority, minorities think that it's just a free ride or something. I get really tired of hearing all the sob stories about how "your ancestors" did this to "my ancestors". I personally haven't lynched, enslaved, stolen land from, or denied anyone, and if discrimination is going to get any better, all races need to focus on ways to better future instead of holding on to the grudges of a bunch of dead guys. The past is the past....I intend on moving forward!

I know other races aren't the only ones who get discriminated against. I worked for a supermarket about four years ago. Just so happened,I was the only white person working there. Every day the manager, and assistant manager would find a way to remind me of that. The assistant was so horribley mean to me, everyday I would be crying all the way home. Same is true if your a woman who knows more about building things ,eletcrical stuff, plumbing, ect. than most of the men do.they instantly turn mean to you.

Yeah, sure. Do I think whites have it rough? No. But here's one for you: I took my broke a** to the financial aid department of my school and was told I couldn't have a grant (I seriously had about fifty bucks to my name) but I could have a whopping student loan. Gee, thanks. Why do they ask your race on the app if they are not discriminating in some way? "It's for the stats," they say. Yeah, right. There were a lot of grants for poor latinos, grants for poor asians, etc. I didn't see a broke, white guy grant on the list though. I didn't see how my need was any less than theirs. They assume we all have trust funds. There are plenty of white folks with no money. I think they should do away with it altogether and give it out the grants on first come - first serve basis.

yes, caucasion people are also discriminated against. every race has people who are dicriminated in it. but the thing is caucasion people arnt discriminated as widley as others, so people just assume it dosnt happen. for example, in america where the majority of people are white, black or hispanic or middle eastern people might feel discriminated against more. but if u were a white person living in an area with more black people, chances are ud feel the same way. im half white and ive been disriminated several times while in africa.

I'm sorry you guys feel this way... but has the discrimination every led to you being yelled bad names in public? Have you ever not gotten a job because you didn't fit in with the rest of the corporate workers? Ever been told to sit in the back of the bus because your race wasn't allowed up front? How about this... Has this "discrimination" ever led to the ancestors of your race to be lynched? Murdered? Killed? Ever been called a "Jungle Coon" before? Had your land taken away and shoved into "reservations"?
Quit whining... 90% of this countries big companies are headed by a white male over 45 years old. White males over 45 years old sent us into multiple wars. It is the white males over 45 years old fault why most of the country hates us..... and this isn't discrimination against the white race.
Trust me, when you ever get discriminated against.... you will KNOW its discrimination. Because when it happens, your heart will drop to your gut in a split second, you'll feel disbelief, then anger, then a feeling of loneliness.
Suck it up caucasians.

Not because I'm caucasian- but because I am a young woman with children. People have a stigma they attach to young, white mothers for some reason. They see a woman in her early twenties with two children in tow and they automatically label her "white trash" without so much as looking at the big picture. They fail to see that I am happily married and a professional. They fail to see that my children are clean and well cared for. They fail to see that my husband and I support our family OURSELVES. I can't tell you how many times I've been in a grocery store checkout line and been asked for my food stamp card only to explain to them that I'm paying cash and wouldn't know a food stamp card if I saw one. Or sitting in the emergency room all night long with a sick baby, only to find out they would have taken me sooner if they'd known I had insurance...

Every day. The anti discrimination laws have effectually discriminated against everyone who is not a minority, and a minority "of color" especially. I'm not a racist either but I once was denied a job because they had fired a minority worker and even though I was qualified, they had to hire a "like" worker because of racial quotas. It's like they say, kill a minority and it's a racial crime. Kill an anglo and it's just murder.
P.S. to BRAD P - Everyone here has an "equal opportunity" - I suggest you take it if you're willing to work that hard.

Yes, I do feel that way.
Example: I wanted to go to the SBA and get a loan to start a business, I couldn't qualify because I didn't have any "minorities" working for me.
Excuse me, as a freelance photographer, how many am I supposed to have?
I don't think a persons ethnic background should have any influence when it comes to anything. But sometimes there are people that cry "We want to be equal - except when it comes to us getting more than everyone else." and they win.
Oh, don't get me started here. . .

You are absolutely correct. The caucasian peoples "always discriminate" against every one and are "never" discriminated against. Isn't that odd?? Also I will add here that the caucasian male over 45 has become the most discriminated against in the work place, especially in Canada. I will also add - I am retired so this is not any reference to myself in the work place.
God said He made all man in His likeness. Governments trying to buy votes from ethnic groups has caused the current day discrimination.

I am a caucasion female and I agree with you. On my last full-time job with GEICO they lied and said I was documenting files that I said I worked and that I did not work. THIS WAS A LIE. and if I had been a black female, they would never have dared say it w/o proof. They got away with it because I am white. Discrimination is only going to get worse as you age. Older people, both black and white, are fair game.
