It was shown around 1969 (black and white, I think I remember) and was about an iron japanese robot. In fact I think it was called "Iron Man" or something.

Try Toonopeida. They have lots of references. There was one early one (much older than 69) that was called Bozo the Robot, but it was really a man wearing a robot suit, like the original iron man armor made by Tony Stark in Marvel, and IIRC, it was called Bozo the Iron Man on the cover. There wasl also Gigantor, Iron Giant, and a number of others, like Eighth Man who was a Japanese product. There were also several different version of Robotman, two were actually humans whose brains were transplanted into robot bodies, and one was a true robot with no organic parts at all. But that last one was only a newspaper strip.

Anyhow, have fun looking in Toonopedia!
