Water pools before draining.

I know that hair is the problem.

The plug is non-removable and gets in the way of plunging.

A simple and surprisingly effective tool is an old wire coat hanger. Unbend it so you end up with a slight hook at one end. Use it to wedge up wads of the hair until you can pull them with your hand. It's kind of gross, but usually works.

1. A Plunger if it is an easy clog in the drain pipe. 2. A rooter or snake if it is a clog in the drain pipe. 3. A plumber for clogs you can't free up. 4. Since it is a septic tank system, sometimes they build up too much solid waste and need to be pumped out. Check the phone book for such a service. It is a dirty job but someone has to do it! 5. Septic tanks rely on bacteria and enzymes to liquify the solid wastes. Chemicals such as "Bleach" used in laundry kill the bacteria and allow the solids to build up. You can pick up a can of "enzymes/bacteria" at most hardware stores, Lowes, Home Depot, etc. You just flush it down the toilet about once a month.

Wedge something between the drain and plug to keep it open. Fill the tub with enough water to cover a plunger, cover the overflow drain with something, then plunge the crap out of it. This way you force water against the clog and not air, also covering the overflow prevents the plunging from bypassing into the overflow line. Good luck

Hardware stores sell drain openers that are acid-based...it's more expensive than say, Draino or Liquid Plumber, but it works great!
