The Cornell Vet School is a great program. The prestige that comes from going to a school like Cornell is immeasurable. From what I hear, they also have a 5 year program so you can get an advanced degree in a shorter amount of time.
Also, Ithaca is a great place to spend your college years. The weather is usually terrible though. But when the sun is out, the campus is absolutely beautiful.
But yeah, do your research. Learn about other school, then Come to Cornell!

I transfered from a small SUNY college to the pre-vet program at Cornell. So far its a lot of work. Getting a degree from Cornell will pay off. The education you will recieve there is immearuable. Getting into professional school there is extrememly hard and competitive, but the undergrad program is great.

cornell is a good choice for undergraduate studies, being that they also have a post graduate vet program there. However, any university that will give you a strong background in the sciences would be adequate to apply to vet schools with. Get good grades with a science degree and get lots and lots of extracurricular animal experience.

Cornell is an excellent school, I have a cousin who graduated from there and now has her doctorate. She works for the Univ. of Washington now. By the way it is spelled veterinarian.

Cornell's vet school is incredible and the town of Ithaca is great for college.
Cornell is ranked number 1.
Colorado is also great, they're number 2 and that's where my cousin graduated from...she's now the number 2 equine reproductive expert in the US.

The best vet school for small animals is the University of Missouri. The best for large animals (horses, cows, etc.) is Kansas State University.
I wanted to be a vet for YEARS. This is what all of my research told me. I know vet majors at KSU, and they will agree that the program is challenging and rewarding.

while you're a NH resident, circulate to Keene State. while you're a MA resident, i might choose UMass over Fitchburg State, except you reside close to Fitchburg. As I remember, the neighbord FSC is in, isn't precisely between the suitable. Plus, being at a school provides you with greater opportunities academically speaking than a school will.

Cornell is good; I would suggest you do your research on which has the better program, though.
