With a limited monthly access of 1Gbyte on my internet service before paying extra charges, how can I tell how much I am using and when I am approaching my limit?

Wow, that internet quota is going to run out fast. You should just go ahead and buy a unlimited service, it shouldnt be that much more $. But a way to mter that is look for a minute minder freeware somewhere.

search www.download.com for 'bandwidth monitor' that will monitor your traffic and will tell you exactly how much you used...

p.s. 1gig a month is not much, it's only 33megs a day and that's nothing..(I download around 500megs a day,just by browsing webpages) I suggest you turn off all graphics in your browser, so all you see is text...that will save you alot of money, some small website could contain pictures for 500k. if you refresh this page it will cost you 200k download, refresh 5 times and there goes 1meg
