I am 5 weeks and 3 days pregnant. A couple of days ago I had a pink and then brown discharge; it went away by itself in a day. Now I have an egg white type of discharge and some abdominal pain and back pain. I don't know if this is normal. I heard this egg white type of discharge happens during the most fertile days of your cycle. Since I am pregnant, I am not sure if I am supposed to get that during the pregnancy. I am over 10 days into my cycle. I had a home pregnancy test and a blood test done and they both came out positive. I am just worried about the miscarriage.

If you are worried, go to a doctor!

Both are normal!! First I had the cramping feeling and that is because the uterus is stretching. It sucks but it has to happen. Then the pinkish discharge is because the egg is attaching its self to the wall of your uterus, and this can cause some blood to work its way out. As for having the white discharge now that is normal too. And it should stay that way. If you do have more pinkish discharge you then need to go to your doctor. There could be something wrong and then again nothing at all. The blood vessels on your cervix become very sensitive and break very easily and this could give you the pink discharge.

The pink/brown for a day is normal, it's implantation bleeding. As long as it only lasted a day, it's fine. The other discharge actually sounds normal too. During pregnancy, you have white sticky discharge, and it's heavier for some women than others. I have to wear a panty liner for the whole pregnancy because mine was heavy and the doctor did check it (it's gross they swab the discharge) and it was fine. If it ever has a bad odor, or is watery (towards the end of pregnancy) call your doctor right away. Otherwise, as long as it's not bleeding, it's fine. Relax! Sounds perfectly normal! I have one healthy girl, and working on the second! lol

You should be fine. The same thing happened to me at 8 weeks and the dr. said that it was old blood being pushed out of the uterus. Mine was pink at first with a lot of clear mucous and then it turned brown and I had that about once a day for two weeks. My dr. said that as long as there were no cramps with it and if it wasn't heavy, it was fine. Brown is the best colour because it shows that the blood is old. Try not to worry. The stress doesn't help. The type of bleeding that you need to concern yourself over is bright red and plentiful.

Go see your OB/GYN or at least call him.I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks pregnant and I started out with the brown stuff too then it turned to bright red after a few days and I bled for almost 2 weeks straight. The pain with it was like the worst period pain you could imagine.I hope everything is ok and you don't have to go through this!

Best way to be sure is to see your doctor, but I think if this was happening during the time you normally would have been having a period there is probably nothing to worry about.
