I'm thinking that you didn't want the actual source of the gas, but want it hooked up to your house. If I am correct...

Usually the local gas Co. will run it to your house for free if you are in a city on a street that has gas lines in it. (My son had this done and while it was free, the contractor was not very respectful of the yard/landscaping and made a pretty big mess and left it for my son to deal with.)
If not, you may have to pay the gas co to run the lines in the street and that would get pretty expensive.

I assume you mean gas for heat and cooking in our homes. It comes from gas wells into the ground like crude oil. Often it is found in the same vicinity as crude oil underground. It is shipped via pipelines crossing the country underground. If you are lucky enough to have a well on your land you often get free gas service It is a fossil fuel left over from buried vegatation eons ago, like oil. .
