You need an ISP to access the internet. If you delete AOL you must also cancel their service - once you do this you have no internet access unless you begin service with another ISP.

Yes and do so as soon as possible.
Do this first...
If you are looking for an ISP provider, go to: juno.com, earthlink.net, msn.com, or check out at&t or sbc.

Whatever you do, get a new ISP (Internet Service Provider) BEFORE you delete aol.

Once you have established your new internet service, go to "MY COMPUTER" , click on "Explore" and look for EVERYTHING that has "AOL" in it and delete it. (If it says this may damage ...don't delete), but anything you can dump - DO IT!!

AOL is like a virus. It gets its way into your system and will drive you crazy.

I got rid of aol and do not have any surfing problems.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

I assume that AOL is you internet service provider. If you disconnect, you will no long have internet. The only thing you can do is certrain things off line, not involving the net.
