talk to your doctor dont listen to people on here. for starters we dont know what your taking and what effects that could have so you reall need to see a doctor. there is a large group of pro-lifers on here that will tell you to keep your baby no matter what. i think you need to see a doc right away and talk about the possible side effects and then weight the risks for yourself. ask yourself some good questions, things like what if this baby has such and such problem how will i deal with it? what kind of life would a child with these problems have? talk these over with your doctor and think about them yourself and do what is best for you. good luck hope it works out how you want it too. also if you do terminate you are not a horrible person...there are lots of people out there that understand.

If you should or not continue your pregnancy I cannot answer. But I can let you know this; my wife was on anti-depressants for the whole duration of here pregnancy. We now have 2 wonderful twin 5 year old boys. They have no side effects from her being on the medicine. All of the unnerving emotional and behavioral traits can be linked to one or both of us,

I do suggest asking your OB about the medicine. It might be necessary to change to a different medicine while you are pregnant.

You don't have to terminate after 1 month. The dr. may change your meds depending what you're on. Most antidepressants aren't ok by my dr. He and my counselor suggest Prozac. If you're on that then you are ok, but, if you could, I would go off them asap. That's just me though. I've read where it's ok to stay on if the mothers life is at stake. They don't know about birth defects because they don't do testing on pregnant women. That's why they are classified as "C" and "D". Call you dr. and he/she will give you some advice. Good luck.

I was also on anti-depressants for about 1 month before I knew I was pregnant. My doctor says that some of them are safer than others. I was taking effexor and she recommended I stop taking it. I had to wean myself off of it for about 2 weeks. I had an ultrasound a few weeks ago and she said everything looked great. Some women take these drugs up until they deliver and have no problems. Talk to your ob/gyn she is the best help for you. Mine told me that prozac, wellbutrin, and zoloft are safe during pregnancy...hope this helps.

Dont worry a lot of women take antidepressant while pregnant it doesnt hurt the baby, since you were on them and now you will be more vulnerable to depression you doctor might give you pills anyway

ask your doctor first and they will check for the genetic test they will ask you to do to 15 wks to 24 wks its optional i would wait until i found out something is wrong with the baby. I wouldnt terminate it though if the baby is sick you will have to deal with it thats my opinion but if your in anti-depressants well thats another story. take care im depressed too but i dont take anything. just wait until they ask you to do a genetic test they draw some blood.

I think you should definenlty ask a doctor am sure the doctor could put you on something safer and make sure you ask the doctor what it could do to the baby. The doctor will give you the best advice.

abortion is an act of violence that destroys a baby
there is NO cause to abort a baby because you have taken anti-depressants, mothers use meth, cocaine, smoke crack and still give birth to their babies, some have difficulties some do not
of course it is safe to continue a pregnancy, you should see an OB/GYN immediately

you will probably have to stop or change your anti depressants, but no after one month gestation the meds you were on should not have an effect on your baby.
