i believe that you will be able to get one without a reserve but I'm not sure, if not you might be able to get one at a walmart they will get the majority of the units.

I certainly hope so. At least that's what I'm banking on. There are a few stores here that did not take preorders but will start selling the Wii at midnight the 18th (or 19th, however you consider it). Of course, they don't know exactly how many units they'll be getting, so I'll definitely be showing up early in hopes of lining up first and guaranteeing myself a console.
Wal-Mart and Best Buy are the retailers selling the Wii like that here in Colorado Springs, but check with your local stores. I also haven't yet asked Circuit City and a few other smaller electronic stores. I would recommend finding out exactly who starts selling the Wii at what times, and go to a store that starts at midnight first, then maybe a store that starts at 9 AM if you don't get it at midnight, and a store that starts at 10 AM if you don't get it at 9, etc. Of course that's only if you're really commited to getting one like me :).
So just make phone calls or e-mail the stores online and gather as much information as possible. After all, knowledge is power :).
