There are a lot of issues in this situation. For example, there are crimes for which a 'free pass' is given in this society. Vehicular homicide by senior citizens is one (they even sue the car manufacturers for faulty brakes and/or gas pedals) and killing one's children due to insanity is another.
Ever since the story of Abraham hearing voices (from God?) in his head telling him to kill his son Isaac, we've been acculturated to allow people to rejoin society as normal after a period of mental health treatment.
Maybe the real question is "Should mental health professionals be allowed to declare people 'cured' when heinous crimes have been committed?"
I think if we could all acknowledge that the bible story relates a tale of schizophrenia described in a primitive fashion and that child murder, even by parents, results in guilty but insane verdicts, then we'd all be better off.

WOW! this question somewhat makes one workout their techniques! Or it did for me besides. I regarded at your links and theory approximately this for a whilst. for my area, that's only an opinion and not in line with any study or first hand know-how, i think of this phenomena would be a species survival mechanism. those females are "no longer precise" and it is in all probability genetic, meaning their infants have a intense probability of being "no longer precise", style of like a mom canines will push a domestic dog out of the nest that may no longer precise and heavily isn't a possible member of society. the certainty that the abrahamic religions make up this manner of super proportion of the inhabitants, "saving" their infants from sin is largely a justification, of their minds, for ridding society of probably nonviable participants and it somewhat is the reason this manner of super sort of of them are non secular. regrettably for the human species we've those extensive overly progressed brains that decrease us off from our instincts. a woman wolf that replaced into no longer "precise" would in no way be allowed to have doggies interior the 1st place. i be attentive to that sounds chilly and inhuman, species survival has a tendency to be that way nonetheless. {{{Nikon}}}

Being insane means not being able to think rationally or control ones actions. If she really was insane, and has been treated to the extent that she is now capable of thinking rationally and controlling her actions (big if) then she does not deserve to be incarcerated. It was tragic and horrific, but it was not her fault. I would trust the judgment of medical professionals on this one.

I think it takes a very disturbed woman to kill her own children anyway. I don't think sanity just returns. She should have to spend as much time in the loony bin as she would jail and I think she should be sterilized. Just my opinion, I am glad God has to judge all of that.

Evidently you do not believe in recovery, repentance or forgiveness.
According to your standards, every last one of us is doomed to hell, because repentance, awareness and recovery don't count.
The only perfect person, I've been told, was Jesus Christ. Do you claim the same standard of perfection? If so, you've left out perfect forgiveness and mercy.
