This question makes almost no sense, please rephrase it...

Do you need a keyboard cable?
Do you need a new power cord for your computer? (if so any standard power cord works with a desktop computer)

What type of cord do you need, and what is it for... There is no such thing as getting a new cord for your keyboard, you just get another keyboard...

And no, if you get another keyboard, it does not have to be HP to work. Any keyboard will do, as long as you plug it into the same slot, and as long as its reletively new.
